Most spy cameras do not require a direct connection to a power source to function. Rather, they largely run on batteries. For the storage capacity, this varies. We advise that you take a look at the product specification/description to see details of storage capacity.
However, It also depends on which mode the hidden camera record to. There are 3 modes and they are (1) SD card, (2) HDD and (3) online.
SD Card: typical capacity from 8GB to 128GB. With 1 Mbps bitrate, it’s about 18 hours to 11 days
HDD: typical capacity can range from 1TB to 6TB. With 1 Mbps bitrate, it’s about 92 days to 550 days
Online Storage: say a hidden IP camera will record online, for example, at Dropbox. The free capacity of 2GB will keep about 4 hours video records at 1 Mbps bitrate.
